Overview
The All-electric Multifamily Program (AMP) provides funding to electrify recently weatherized properties throughout the state through replacement of existing inefficient space heating and/or domestic hot water heating systems with all-electric, high-efficiency heat pumps. Additional funding is available for defined electrification enabling upgrades and the installation of on-site solar PV systems. The first $25M round of the AMP funding was made available in early 2026 and awarded to three Subgrantees. A new Notice Of Funding Availability (NOFA) was released in Q2 with an additional $57M in funding.
Program Access
This program is now available for eligible properties to apply through the awarded Subrecipients. Eligible properties are multifamily (5+ units) who have recently completed, or will recently complete weatherization upgrades, through either NYS HCR’s Weatherization Services unit, and/or NYSERDA’s EmPower, or AMP Up program, where the property has successfully upgraded and improved the properties building envelope to improve air leakage and insulation. Please see the program requirements link below for additional eligibility requirements.
