Green Affordable Pre-Electrification (GAP) Program

Program Overview

The Green Affordable Pre-Electrification Program (GAP) has been authorized in the State budget in the amount of two million dollars ($2,000,000). The program will be made available to low-income residents throughout New York State via grant allocations to Subrecipients, or community action agencies and non-profit organizations listed below, to perform health and safety upgrades to existing homes, single family and small multi-family properties, to prepare them for future electrification upgrades and, or, deeper energy efficiency work.

Eligible GAP scopes of work will be focused on improving a home or multifamily properties health and safety issues, that are otherwise causing the property to be ineligible for weatherization or decarbonization funding from State or Federal sources.

Interested homeowners, property owners, or residents, should contact the listed and awarded Subrecipients below based on the county they serve to learn more about funding available in their region.
