Overview
Executive Order No. 3, issued on January 1, 2007, requires state agencies and public authorities to broadcast meetings subject to the Open Meetings Law via the internet.
Because of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Emergency and State and Federal bans on large meetings or gatherings, and pursuant to Executive Order 220.1 issued on March 12, 2020, certain provisions of the Open Meetings Law have been suspended.
Executive Order 220.1 provides that public bodies may meet to take such actions as are authorized by the law, without permitting in public in-person access to such meetings and authorizes such meetings to be held remotely by conference call or similar service, provided that the public has the ability to view or listen to such proceeding and that such meetings are recorded and later transcribed.
The New York State Housing Finance Agency (HFA), the State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC), the State of New York Municipal Bond Bank Agency (MBBA), the Tobacco Settlement Financing Corporation (TSFC) and the Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HTFC) all hold periodic meetings that are subject to the Open Meetings Law, including their Board meetings. Although most portions of these meetings are open to the public, certain "executive sessions" as defined by Section 105 of the law are closed.
All meetings will be held at 641 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY unless otherwise noted.
