NY Rising Community Reconstruction and Infrastructure Programs

The NY Rising Community Reconstruction Program brought together dozens of grassroots planning committees comprised of residents, non-profits, municipal leaders, business owners, and other stakeholders to identify priorities for long-term recovery and resiliency.

Community Reconstruction Plans led to $650 million of targeted investments in critical infrastructure, floodproofing, shoreline restoration, disaster response capacity building, and other initiatives. With more than 200 completed and dozens more projects anticipated to be completed by 2025, communities continue to be better prepared to withstand the impacts of rising sea levels and more frequent and powerful storms.
